Full Time Certified Automotive Service Technician

Mercedes-Benz of Tuscaloosa is are currently seeking a Full Time Certified Automotive Service Technician to add to our growing service department.

Qualified applicants must possess technical skills along with the desire to pursue a rewarding career in the automotive industry. 5 day work week Monday - Friday, CLOSED on Saturday and Sunday.

Job Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Examine the vehicle to determine if any additional safety or service work is needed
  • Advise service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
  • Document work performed and recommended on the repair order. Upon completion of work return repair order to Service Advisor.
  • Road test customer vehicles
  • Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean, undamaged, and without changes to the comfort, convenience systems or audio system settings. Notifies service advisor and/or service manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Attend factory-sponsored training classes
  • Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all times. TOOLBOX IS PROVIDED
  • Adhere to all attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping standards

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years' experience minimum
  • Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must have your own tools
  • Team oriented, flexible, focused on maintaining a high level of customer service

Automotive Tech Assistant

Help our automotive technicians repair vehicles while gaining training and hands-on experience. Must have worked in an automotive shop or dealership and have some hands-on experience working on cars, changing oil, rotating tires, etc. This is an entry position with possibility of moving up to technician.

Duties include but not limited to:

·      Mount and balance tires

·      Check air pressure and fluid levels

·      Test drive cars

Any automotive training is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·       Scheduling employees for work throughout week.

·       Maintaining quick turn-around on vehicles 

·       Managing workloads efficiently for employees

·       Communicate with all departments to determine needs

·       Ordering detail cleaning supplies and maintaining stock room

·       Must have a good driving record

·       Gas up lot cars 

·       Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean, undamaged, and without changes to the comfort, convenience systems or audio system settings.

·       Notifies service advisor and/or service manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
