As we approach the 2023 model year, the Mercedes-Benz GLC is receiving some new updates, but at first glance, it may be hard for Columbus or Meridian, MS drivers to tell. As such, we’ll be delving into the changes drivers can expect to find when picking up this SUV.
Interior/Exterior Features
As we mentioned, at first glance, the changes made to the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC are hard to see, at least on the outside. This is because the dimensions have slightly expanded. The new GLC is now 2.4 inches longer, sitting at 185.7 inches long. The wheelbase has expanded by 0.6 inches to 113.7 inches, and the leg room has expanded by a whopping 0.1 inches.
But these minor changes mostly extend to the vehicle’s exterior as the interior is a different story. Inside the cabin, Northport drivers will find a new MBUX infotainment system with an 11.9-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an augmented-reality navigation system that superimposes instructions on a live video feed.
Performance
On release, Northport residents will find the new GLC300 will initially be offered with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine working in conjunction with a 48-volt hybrid system. This engine can deliver 258 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and utilizes a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Safety Features
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC will also see new advanced driver-aids when it arrives. Several new safety features include Mercedes’s Level 2 Drive Pilot driver-assistance system and a 360-degree camera system. The new camera system will use what’s known as a “transparent hood,” which uses cameras to deliver a view under the front of the vehicle to help with maneuvering when off-roading.
